So last night we showed up at West End for services right at time to start. The parking lot was full. When we walked inside all I saw was darkness. The power had obviously gone out. I could hear though, and all the people were packed in the pews in the dark just chatting away waiting for service to start. It was really a neat thing to see that some christians will not let something like the power to stop them from worship. The elders then made a few announcements and gave a prayer and said we will see you all on Sunday. But then I heard a member say grab a song book and meet outside. Next thing I know several members were in a circle on the front lawn singing together. It was only in the upper 80's no big deal. I saw several older members along with many college age, and middle aged members. I think too many members get so comfortable with the building and AC that a little discomfort halts everything, and I'm glad and uplifted that I had the opportunity to worship last night. Even if it was hot outside with all the thugs driving by looking at us. (Hey they don't call it West End for nothing.) West Side Y'all

Have a good one!
